Guest Information & Park Rules

The following are just a few points about the villa and to help you when you first arrive.

You will find a useful information folder in the villa giving you details about local stores, general info about the house and how to contact the Management Company in case of any problems etc. Please take time to read this upon your arrival.

Parking/Vehicles

No cars are to be left on the roadside; this is in breach with the rules of Highgate Park. Cars left on the kerb side are liable to be clamped or towed away. There is room for 2 cars on the drive. No cars are to be parked on the lawn areas. Commercial vehicles, campers, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, home trailers, boats shall not be permitted to be parked or stored on the property or anywhere else on Highgate Park. No vehicles may be attached to the utilities of the villa. This is governed and enforced by the Homeowners Association of Highgate Park.

Food/Groceries

You will probably want to get some food /groceries soon after you arrive. There is a 24 hour 'Publix' store very near by - as you leave the Legacy Park development, turn right onto the US 27. Publix is on the right after about 1/2 a mile at the traffic lights.

Air Conditioning/Lights/Fans:

The air conditioning is pre-set to a generally acceptable level. Please do not operate the air conditioning below 76 degrees or change from Auto as this can cause the unit to freeze. Please be kind enough to switch off lights and fans especially in the pool area when not in use and when you are away from the villa.

Windows and Doors

We would ask that you keep the windows and doors closed whilst the air conditioning is on, otherwise it works against the air conditioning and means you will be unable to keep the house nice and cool. Please lock all windows and doors when leaving the house and at night.

Villa alarm

The villa has an alarm, which will sound whenever an external door (front, patio, garage etc) is opened. Thus if you have small children who walk out without your knowledge a sound will alert you that an external door has been opened.

Waste Disposal:

Always make sure water is running before using the waste disposal facility. Please be careful what you put in the waste disposal and take care when operating the unit.

Dishwasher:

Please ensure you use automatic dishwasher powder/liquid or tablets as opposed to dishwashing liquid!

Plumbing:

The plumbing in Florida can sometimes cause problems. Please refrain from putting personal items down the toilets otherwise blockages will occur. The flush levers require only a gentle press – they are not like the UK ones.

Washer/Dryer:

These are easy to operate, just follow the instructions on the front panel and inside the lid.

DVD/Playstation/CDs

Our villa has a DVD, Playstation and CD player for your use and enjoyment. Please leave the discs in the villa when you leave, as they will not work in the UK.

Smoking:

Please note smoking is strictly forbidden in the villa. There is an ashtray provided for use on the pool deck area.

IMPORTANT

Rubbish / Garbage / Trash:

Do not put bin liners outside of the property. Please place all rubbish in bin liners which have been tied up and put inside the lockable bins provided, which are kept in the garage. The bins should be placed outside at the end of the drive ready for collection after 6pm the night before collection, the later the better, otherwise you may end up with rubbish all over the drive from animals tipping bins. Rubbish is collected very early on Monday and Thursday mornings. Please make sure all plastic bags are placed inside the bin and the locks on the bins are closed, otherwise a fine may be issued and this will be deducted from your security deposit. There is a yellow box for recycling, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles. Recycling is on a Thursday only.

Check out day:

Please make sure the villa is secure and return the key back into the key lock box by 10am of your departure date.
